I have gotten a lot of questions lately as to what exactly this test does. Being new to this myself, I too wanted more information. This test is a must. It can tell whether or not chemo will help. In most cases, it won't but the docs prescribe it anyway. We go for anything that might help us live, but chemo is awful and if it couldn't possibly help, why go through it? Finally, there's this test that can tell whether it's worth it. We should have chemo if it will help; otherwise, it's a huge unnecessary treatment. Most insurers already cover the test. Obviously, they don't want to spend their money on something that won't do any good.
